I am an avid gardener, and have been a member of the Strathcona Community Garden in Vancouver, BC for over 10 years. Professionally, I was a heavy duty mechanic; after 27 years with Finning International, I retired in late 2009. I am interested in healthy living, particularly organic farming and foods and its contribution to health promotion and public health.

Since retiring, I have completed two tours of organic farms in Canada. In 2010, I visited 56 organic farms in BC, Alberta and the Yukon. In 2011, I visited 50 organic farms across Canada, from BC to Prince Edward Island. My goal during each visit is to fix equipment on the farms, and more importantly, teach farmers the skills and strategies to keep their equipment in good working order.
